Poker – a card game

Poker – a whole variety of card games, rules which can be very different, but united they are at the same time common principles.

In poker you can play only for money. Playing on “wrappers” even in the warm and friendly company loses all meaning. More precisely, the game becomes dependent only on luck, but psychological and intellectual component of its being completely lost.

In poker, there are two options for seeing the game: let’s say, “attack” – to collect as much money with the best hand or with a worse hand, applying the technique of “bluff” and “protection” – to lose as little money in case the opponent hand over.

The first mention of the type of poker games refers to 1526. The rules of this game is impossible to determine, but in some respects it was a three-card poker, which was called «primero», but it’s not poker for beginners.

The first mention of the classic five-card poker refer to 1700. It has already found acceptance bluff and generally ad rates. The game also became known as Bragg (brag) in English and Pohen (pochen) in German. Close sounding Poke (poque) was first mentioned in France.

Worldwide popularity of poker is obliged to the U.S., where it was introduced in the mid 19 th century French colonists.

Somewhere in the vast American prairie game was divided into open poker (stad) and closed. In the first version of the game’s opponents do not see the cards to each other, and the second in the game there are community cards available to all players, or opponents are not closed all the cards.

The modern version of poker appeared in 1834 among U.S. Army soldiers, uchuvstvovavshih in the Civil War. Play steel deck of 52 cards. Some time poker was considered a national game of the Americans and among gamblers in popularity, so to speak, the national color was comparable to modern baseball. To date remains the most popular poker card game in America and around the world.
